Police Log: Man Busted for OUI Drugs; Home Broken Into Through Window

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.

Arrests

Nov. 17, 2:17 a.m.: An officer patrolling on Mt. Auburn Street spotted a man in 7-Eleven who he knew was wanted on a warrant. The 27-year-old Watertown man was arrested on the warrant from Brighton District Court for traffic offenses.

Nov. 17, 6:28 a.m.: Police served a warrant on Watertown Street. The 27-year-old Watertown man was arrested on the warrant from Waltham District Court for animal cruelty.

Nov. 17, 9:25 a.m.: A man was stopped on Bigelow Avenue and the 42-year-old Medford man was arrested on the warrant for traffic offenses.

Nov. 17, 7:24 p.m.: An erratic driver was reported on Arsenal Street, and when police arrived they found a vehicle stopped at a green light and not moving. He appeared to be looking at his cellphone. Police honked and he moved. The car was pulled over and police determined the man was under the influence of drugs. They also found he had some Suboxone pills on him. The 27-year-old Watertown man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and possession of a Class B drug.

Nov. 22, 4:28 a.m.: A man wanted on a probation warrant was located on Philip Darch Road. Police arrested the 26-year-old Watertown man.

Incidents

Nov. 17, 1:25 p.m.: A moped parked on Elm Street was stolen. It had been chained up in front of a home.

Nov. 19, 9:47 p.m.: A vehicle parked on Hill Street was broken into overnight, and a roll of quarters was taken. While police were speaking with one resident, another came up and said someone broke into a second car, but nothing was taken.

Nov. 19, 7:39 p.m.: A Sports Authority employee spotted a woman go into a changing room with two jackets and a pair of pants. When she came out she only had one jacket. The employee recognized the woman and a man with her from past incidents at the store. When the pair left the store the alarm went off. They were last seen getting into a Nissan in the Arsenal Project parking lot. The jacket was a North Face one worth $240.

Nov. 20, 11:36 a.m.: An Edenfield Avenue resident reported that two packages had gone missing after they were delivered to a home.

Nov. 20, 5:44 p.m.: A woman who parked her car on Orchard Street said someone scratched the entire side of her car.

Nov. 21, 1:10 a.m.: A Middlesex Road resident returned home and found all the cabinet doors open and rummaged through. The burglar entered the home by cutting a screen on a rear window. A Nikon digital camera appeared to be the only item missing.

Nov. 21, 11:37 a.m.: Two cars parked in a driveway on Fayette Street were broken into overnight. They were rummaged through, but nothing was missing. A neighbor told police another vehicle had been broken into, but nothing was taken.

  1. This Friday night, November 27, a number of us on Fayette Street (at least 4) had our cars broken into and change stolen. A police officer informed me Saturday morning, having been called by a neighbor across the street whose car was broken into. My neighbors upstairs and next door were affected, too, as was I. Junkies on the prowl?
