Funeral Services for Janet L. (Elphick) Hebert will be held on Tuesday evening, June 28, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, Watertown.

Mrs. Hebert passed away on June 25, 2016 in the Marist Hill Nursing & Rehabilitaion Center, Waltham, after a period of declining health. She was a daughter of the late David S. and Ruth L. (Swetts) Elphick. She was 85.

Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, she and her family moved to Watertown at a young age, graduating from Watertown High School, class of 1950. She worked as a Licensed

A Practical Nurse for many years at Waltham Hospital, she retired in 1999 as an Administrative Assistant in the Adult Baccalaureate Collage at Lesley University.

Janet was a Past President of the Burnham-Manning Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1105 Ladies Auxiliary. She had been a resident of Watertown for the past 60 years.

She is the beloved wife of the late Kenneth J. Hebert. Loving mother of Carol L. Murphy and her husband Robert of Belmont, N.H. and the late Charles W. Smith, Jr.

Visiting Hours to be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St. Watertown, Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Burial in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
