A graveside service for Donald G. Burton will be celebrated by the family at Ridgelawn Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Burton, a son of the late Donald and his living mother Rose (Martell) Burton, passed away after a brief illness in his home on Friday evening, March 23, 2018. Don was 74.

Donald was educated in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada where he grew up. He came to the states after schooling and worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Boston Herald. Don was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was just an easy going man, loved by all.

He was the beloved husband of the late Donna G. (Stanton) Burton. Devoted father of Heather G. Chiapperini & her husband Richard of Watertown, Todd M. Burton & his wife Maria of Wilmington and Michael J. Burton of Watertown. Loving grandfather of Olivia, Emily, Joshua and Jayden. Donald is also survived by his mother Rose (Martell) and brother Wayne Burton both of Nova Scotia, Canada.

A graveside service will be held at a later time.

Memorials in Don’s name may be made to the Care Dimensions Hospice, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-103, Danvers, MA 01923.

  1. A lovely picture of George & a nice write up. We knew him as George & I remember him well where we went to school in Petite Riviere. Always a prankster & fun loving. We visited the last summer he was home when he was here visiting his brother Wayne & mother…It is always hard to say ‘goodbye’. wishing you & all the family the best in the days ahead
