Three Watertown homes were broken into and two more attempted break ins occurred last week at homes that were empty at the time, according to Watertown Police.

The incidents took place between 8 p.m. on Sept. 26 and 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 in the area on and near Common Street, north of Orchard Street. The homes broke into were on Russell Avenue, Lovell Road and Common Street, and the attempted break ins were on Barnard Avenue and Lovell Road.

“We believe it was the same person or persons who committed the crimes,” said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor.

In each incident, the break in, or attempted break in occurred on a first floor window on the side or rear of the homes, O’Connor said. Also, no one was home when the crimes occurred.

Anyone who saw something suspicious or who has information about the break ins should contact the Watertown Police at 617-972-6500.
