A man and a woman face multiple charges after banging on a Watertown man’s door, and attacking him, his friend and the friend’s wife.

Police received a report of a disturbance involving several people on the 300 block of Main Street at 10:22 p.m. on Sept. 26, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. A man later identified as 21-year-old Reuben Urquiza-Cabrera, was seen attacking the homeowner.

“When the officer arrived he saw Cabrera kicking a male with his foot,” O’Connor said.

The victims told police that they were in their home when someone began shaking the door and ringing the door bell, O’Connor said. The homeowner, a 67-year-old man, went down to see what was going on and Cabrera attacked him.

“The homeowner was attacked, his shirt was ripped off, he was thrown to the ground and kicked,” O’Connor said.

The man’s friend, who is 72-years-old, went to see what was happening and he was also attacked by Cabrera.

“He was also thrown to the ground,” O’Connor said.

When the friend’s 69-year-old wife saw what was going on she tried to intervene and Cabrera grabbed her and threw her to the ground.

A woman, identified as 20-year-old Alyssa Owens, also was seen attacking the homeowner, O’Connor said.

O’Connor said it is not clear what prompted the attack or why they attacked the people at that address.

The incident attracted the attention of people in a nearby restaurant, who came out to see what was going on, O’Connor said. Also, people at Moxley Park stopped what they were doing to find out what was happening.

When police attempted to place Cabrera under arrest he resisted by holding his arms at his side. When police were speaking to the victims and witnesses, Owens began screaming and yelled profanities at police and others. She was told to calm down multiple times but she would not.

Reuben Urquiza-Cabrera, 21, of Waltham, was arrested on three counts of assault and battery on a person 60 or over, and one count each of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person 60 or over, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct, O’Connor said.

Alyssa Owens, 20, of Waltham, was arrested on charges of assault and battery on a person 60 or over, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

  1. Probably undocumented people that all the democratic what to take care of and give them everything for free. And trumps trying to stop this and every one is trying to stop him

    • why does it have to be political with you?> 3 idiots beat up elderly people… has nothihng to do with dem or repub… Stop making everything political …

      • thank you for being the voice of reason. I don’t care if the attackers were freaking Martians, its just wrong. Blame the drugs, lack of morals, lack of good parental rule models, but don’t write it up as illegal entitlement,.
Carolyn I am so sorry your family went through this sending love and prayers…a foreigner (legal, but still foreigner born).

    • Edward, first of all, you’re an ignorant fool for writing that.
You said what you said because of their last names, and where they live, if someone else with a more “American sounding name” commited the crime, you would had twisted your mouth and said something else like “ I hope these criminals get The punishment they deserve “ which is what you should of said In the first place.
Aren’t you embarrassed to be told what words you shouldn’t say on a public news outlet by a 22 year old?
      Anyways.
I knew these hooligans, they were no good from the start.
They lived many rough patches in life, doesn’t justify their actions, of course, they’re adults, and what they did is disgusting.
Angry folks, I know they act on revenge, somethings made they react to make them act this way.
Obviously, these citizens of watertown dkd not deserves this act. I just this doesn’t spew out hatred towards a certain ethnicity.

Let justice be served, and these criminals convicted.

    • Typical Republican – politically postured narrow minded reply!
If they had been White, what would you allege? If Black? Educate yourself with the facts. Are you a Native American? Only fools assert themselves as ‘entitled’ to being here. Your ancestors were immigrants.

  2. Let’s put it this way, the two complete losers from Waltham certainly did not belong there so one must assume that they were up to no good. Appropriate punishment? You tell me.

  3. I enjoy reading about things happening and things going on in Watertown. As I was born and raised there. As I enjoy being kept informed about what’s going on in Watertown. Thank you.

  4. Wow. . .there is enough stupidity in some of these comments to fill the Grand Canyon. Despicable act, plain and simple. But despicable, violent acts are not limited to any race, ethnicity, creed, gender or any other human category. Remember that Whitey Bulger, one of the most violent and sociopathic criminals the Boston area ever produced was white, Irish and Catholic. Cut the bigotry. It makes Watertown look bad.

  5. I agree not political. I do not think these people really are elderly but awful thing to happen to them. I would also like to know reason.why do people do this?
