Watertown Firefighters Attend Graduations of Children of Lost Comrades

Members of the Watertown Fire Department showed they do not forget their fallen colleagues by attending their children’s college graduations this week.

On Thursday, several members of the Watertown Fire Department headed to Bridgewater State for the graduation of Alyssa Toscano. She is the daughter of Joe Toscano, who died while fighting a fire in East Watertown two years ago.

Alyssa Toscano, center, who lost her father firefighter Joseph Toscano two years ago, was joined by members of the Watertown Fire Department: Firefighter Q. Paglierani (retired), Firefighter S. Caira, Chief R. Quinn, Lieutenant S. Fitzgerald, Captain D. Melanson (retired).

On Sunday, a contingent from the WFD headed to Worcester to see the Jocelyn Orangio’s graduate from Clark University. She is the daughter of former Watertown Fire Chief Mario Orangio, who died in November 2017 of job-related cancer.
