Five New Members Join Watertown Community Foundation Board

The Watertown Community Foundation announces the appointment of five new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the Board are Lauren Unsworth, Ashley Morris, Maria Panaggio-Phillips, Tony Paolillo, and Antonia O’Hara.

“All five of our newest Board members are dedicated to our mission of building and sustaining a vibrant, close-knit community. Each brings expertise, experience, and energy for today and the future. We are delighted to welcome them as partners as we continue to strengthen our community here in Watertown,” said Jan Singer, Executive Director.

Lauren Unsworth is a life-long Watertown resident and mother of two young boys, she is involved in the community through her work with the J.R. Lowell School PTO and annual Watertown Unity Breakfast Planning Committee. Lauren serves as Vice President of Nuova Associazione San Donato, a local organization committed to maintaining connections between Italian immigrants and their homeland of San Donato, V.C., Italy. Lauren is the office manager at Bessemer Venture Partners in Cambridge. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Assumption College and a Master’s degree from Regis College.

Ashley Morris is a Commercial Sales and Leasing Associate with Coldwell Banker CommercialNRT/Metro Boston Group. As a Realtor, and member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, Ashley has served on both the Rental Issues Committee and the Young Professionals Network Committee. She volunteers with Dress for Success Boston and Anton’s Belle of the Ball. Ashley is married with two amazing daughters, and a 100-lb. rescue dog named Franco. Her children attend Watertown Public Schools and are proud ambassadors of their community who, together with fabulous neighbors, have become known for hosting one of the best block parties in town!

Maria Panaggio-Phillips has worked in the health care non-profit sector since 2005. She has served on various committees including the Association of Latin Professionals For America (ALPFA) Healthcare Committee and the Watertown Family Network. Currently, she serves on the board of the New England National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) chapter as immediate past president. A resident of Watertown since 1986 when her family immigrated to the United States from Argentina, Maria lives in town with her husband, two children, and their Boston terrier, Lucy. She is an active member of the Cunniff Elementary School PTO.

Tony Paolillo and his wife Maureen have been residents of Watertown for 38 years. As a former member of the Watertown School Committee and Chairman for 12 years, he was involved in many parent organizations serving as president of the Lowell PTO and Town wide PTU. Tony has been a long-time board member and Treasurer of the Watertown Boys and Girls Club, and served on numerous Town Committees and board including on the Town Board Assessors. Tony is a member of the Church Council for the Watertown Catholic Collaborative. He is currently a Director of Tax at TripAdvisor. 

Antonia O’Hara has worked for Watertown Savings Bank for 32 years and is very active in the Watertown community. She is a graduate of the New England School for Financial Studies. O’Hara is Treasurer of the Massachusetts Retirement Plan Consortium group and manages the Church Street, Watertown drive-up Watertown Savings Bank branch as well. Originally, from Watertown, she currently resides in Waltham.
