Council President Candidate Forum a Week Away, Submit Your Questions

Join WCN, Watertown Cable Access Corp and the Watertown News for an election forum featuring the two candidates running for City Council President in Watertown’s local election. Incumbent Mark Sideris is being challenged by former Town Council President Clyde Younger. The two will answer questions during a forum at the Watertown Free Public Library’s Watertown Savings Bank Room on Wednesday, October 11th at 6 p.m. The library is located at 123 Main St. Residents are invited to submit questions to the candidates by emailing watertownmanews@gmail.com. The forum will also be broadcast live on WCA-TV’s Public Channel.

On Sunday, October 17th at 1 p.m., the Watertown Democratic Town Committee and Progressive Watertown will co-host a series of candidate forums for upcoming town elections. The event will take place at Saltonstall Park, behind Watertown Town Hall. The approximate times for the start time of each forum are below. District A: 1:00

District B: 1:35

District D: 2:10

At-Large: 2:55

Library Trustee: 3:45

School Committee: 4:00

Candidates in the Watertown Town Election will be appearing at an election forum co-hosted by Watertown News and Watertown Cable Access Television Thursday night beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Candidate Forum will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 6:30-9 p.m. It will be held in the Lecture Hall at Watertown High School, 50 Columbia St. If you cannot attend, watch the forum from home on WCA-TV’s Public Channel:

This year’s Watertown voters will vote for Town Council President, Town Councilors At-Large, District Councilors, School Committee and Board of Library Trustees. The evening begins with statements from un-opposed candidates at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., the seven candidates for Town Councilor At-Large will be answering questions. Some questions will be prepared by the organizers, and some time will be set aside for questions from the audience.
