Final Farmers Market of the Season Takes Place Wednesday

The last opportunity in 2023 to get fresh produce and other products directly from the produces at the Watertown Farmers’ Market will be on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 2:30-6 p.m. in Saltonstall Park (Corner of Main St. & Whites Ave. – next to City Hall, 149 Main St.)

Visit this Wednesday to enjoy the Watertown Farmers’ Market one last time for the season. With wonderful root vegetables and all your favorite farmers’ market foods, it’s not a market to be missed! 

We’ll have a kid’s scavenger hunt and LIVE MUSIC by Ruth Rappaport from 3:00 – 5:00pm, Community and Sustainability groups and a Watertown Business Coalition guest alongside our fabulous weekly lineup.

Farmers Market Season Officially Opened for the 10th Year This Week

From fish products to fresh strawberries to homemade honey, various vendors scattered across Saltonstall Park for Watertown’s 10th annual Farmers’ Market. The Watertown Farmers’ Market had its opening day on June 14. The market opened with a bell ringing performed by City Manager George Proakis, someone who looks forward to having the market every year. “It’s just become a real important part of our community and we love running it and it’s good to have it back.

Staff from the office of Senator Will Brownsberger will have a table at the Watertown Farmer’s Market on Wednesday, August 31 from 2:30-6:30 p.m.

The event is being held at Saltonstall Park, located at 149 Main Street, Watertown, MA 02472. The farmer’s market will take place rain or shine. This is a great opportunity to meet our district staff and connect with us about any state-related issues that are on your mind. We are available to discuss legislative topics, such as policy interests or specific bills in the Massachusetts Legislature, as well as any state-related personal issues, such as navigating the unemployment system or the RMV. This week at the WFM, you can find all your favorite summer veggies, from eggplant to corn, tomatoes and summer squash! Alongside fruits and veggies, stop by to pick up your local seafood and meats. Watertown Farmers Market Returning in June With Several New Vendors

The Watertown Farmers Market will return on June 15 with four produce booths, and several new vendors including some familiar local names. The Farmers Market takes place Wednesdays from 2:30-6:30 p.m., rain or shine, at Saltonstall Park (next to City Hall, 149 Main St.). It runs from June 15 to Oct. 19, 2022.

City of Watertown Seeking Farmers Market Coordinator

The City of Watertown seeks to fill a part-time, seasonal farmers market coordinator position. The City put out a job opening announcement this week. “The ideal candidate is passionate about farmers markets, the local food system, food security, and community building,” the announcement reads. The coordinator works under the direction of the Community Wellness Program Manager to assist with preseason market preparation and promotion, and would oversee the operation of the market, assist vendors, volunteers and customers. The position is also responsible for promoting the market and vendors through newsletters and social media posts.

The season is almost over for the Watertown Famers Market, so don’t miss out on a chance to purchase fresh produce, meat, fish and other items on Wednesday. Market organizers sent out the following infomration:

Tomorrow is our LAST market of the season. It’s a bittersweet end to the season, knowing that we’ve had such a great summer together in Saltonstall Park. Tomorrow, look forward to music from A&W Ukulele Players from 4 pm to 6 pm on the green, opportunities to sign up for Fall CSAs, and a guest chocolate vendor, Sotto Chocolate! Please note that we will close at 6 p.m. tomorrow, due to the much earlier fall sunset.
