Watertown has two new places to grab a drink and something to eat, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. One is a pub in the West End, and the other is the newest location for a local brewery and the newest addition to Arsenal Yards.
West on Main announced on social media that it was opening on Thursday, May 22.
“It’s time!!! The wait is finally over – West on Main is opening its doors! 🍀🍻
We know it’s been a long time coming (with more than a few changing dates), but your support and excitement these past few months have meant the world. Thank you!”
West on Main is located in the former home of Fit-Z’s Bar & Grille at 451 Main St. in Watertown.

On Friday, May 23, the Mighty Squirrel Brewing opened its new taproom in Arsenal Yards. The brewery made the announcement on Facebook, saying that it would be a “Taproom & Tapas,” similar to the location near Fenway Park.
“It’s official…all approvals are in hand (thank you Watertown!), so we are opening our new taproom at Arsenal Yards TOMORROW, Friday May 23rd at 5:30pm. After more than five years of site exploration, design, development, and construction, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you all here. This space is going to be about community, connection, family, and the outdoors. Most importantly, we want this space to be about building bridges.
This will be a “Taproom & Tapas” location like our Fenway taproom, including our full line up of beers, seltzers, and hard smoothies, and our tapas dishes from around the world such as aloo tikki, tuna aguachile, tinga tostadas, lamb lollipops, roasted beets and burrata salad, tuna poke bowl, lobster roll, ribeye steak taco, baja fish taco, Thai beef skewers with pineapple salsa, patatas bravas, bacon brussel sprouts, birria poutine, and much more.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow if you can make it over!”
The Mighty Squirrel Taproom is located next to Arsenal Yard’s River Green, in the same building as Shake Shack and across from Roche Bros. and Buttermilk & Bourbon.
