
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
June 6: A man went into Target and took $58.19 in bath, health and beauty, and grocery items.
June 6: A package was taken from a home on Oliver Road. FedEx delivered the box containing a 15-inch MacBook computer valued at $1,400 at 2:30 p.m. It was gone when the resident returned home. The report was taken by Officer Sean Bowler.
June 6: A shoplifter took five pairs of men’s shoes from Marshalls valued at $250.
June 6: A man was stopped at Target for shoplifting and store security discovered he had been involved in two prior shoplifting incidents. On June 6 he took $72 worth of merchandise. In the two other incidents he took $50 in items on April 14 and $38 in merchandise on March 17. Gregory Chan, 56, of Watertown, was arrested on three counts of shoplifting.
June 6: A man went into Marshalls and took $43 worth of merchandise.
June 7: A boat was abandoned on Calvin Road near Grove Street. The green and white Stingray was left on a trailer on the side of the roadway.
June 8: A man went into the CVS on Mt. Auburn Street and took 38 photos that cost $47 and left without paying.
June 8: A woman was seen taking $123 worth of home goods and outdoor decor from Target. On June 2 she took $140 worth of items. Lucile Mahakian, 82 of Watertown, was arrested on two counts of shoplifting — third offense.
June 9: An officer was in the parking lot behind Home Depot and saw a woman walk over to the nursery area outside of the store and take a plant off the shelf and put it into her vehicle. She did not make an effort to pay for it. Det. Brendan Wojtowicz approached her and identified himself as a police officer. While investigating he found she had Class B drugs. Keira Guizzardi, 50, of Whitman, was arrested for shoplifting — third offense, and possession of a Class B — subsequent offense.
June 10: A resident of Prentiss Street received a text message from her landlord saying the rent check had not been received. She mailed it from Boston and contacted her bank and realized it had been stolen. Police suspect it was taken in a mailbox fishing incident. The case was sent to the U.S. Postal Service and the Boston Police.
June 10: Two suspects working in tandem took $84 worth of clothing from Carter’s. Officer Charlie Samios took the report.
June 10: A shoplifting in progress was reported at Target. The man took a lighter, medical masks, and went to the Pizza Hut and took a slurpy and left without paying for any of the items. The suspect was seen walking on Elm street carrying a bag. Officer Michael Grzelcyk responded and spotted the suspect walking near the Residence Inn by Marriott. During the investigation police found the suspect had Class A and Class B drugs. The suspect was also wanted on a warrant. Vincent Brown, 54, of Boston, was arrested for shoplifting — third offense, possession of a Class A drug — subsequent offense, possession of a Class B drug — subsequent offense, and the warrant from Wrentham District Court for shoplifting — third offense.
June 11: Police went to Robert Ford Road for a report of a man with a gun inside a motor vehicle. When they arrived, officers ordered the people out of a vehicle so they could investigate. Witnesses said they heard someone yell “gun.” A man and a woman came to the area to confront some residents. A fight started and the male suspect pulled out a knife and swung it in the direction of one of the residents. The suspects saw a person go into a home and thought the person was going to get a gun, but he came out with an iPad. During the investigation the suspects lied to police. Christian Alvarado, 21 of Newton, and Ruby Clay, 19 of Waltham, were both arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and misleading a police investigation. No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
June 13: A resident reported attempted misuse of a credit card. The victim got alerts of a 99 cent charge and then a $14 charge on a Chase Bank card. Neither went through because the victim did not authorize the charges.
June 13: A Palfrey Street resident found three tickets and a parking pass for a Red Sox game online. The seller asked the resident to send $480 by Venmo. The resident sent the money and attempted to find the tickets to the Ballpark App but they did not come through. The resident realized it was a scam and called the credit card company to try to cancel the transaction, but it had already been processed. Police are investigating.
June 13: A shoplifter took $163 worth of merchandise from Target.
June 13: A woman went into Target and took $335 worth of children’s clothes and toys.
