A Watertown man had his shower interrupted and saw a pair of men in his bathroom on Aug. 25. The two home invasion suspects were arrested later that day.

Watertown Police responded to an apartment building on Coolidge Hill Road at 9:15 a.m. on Aug. 25 for the report of a home invasion, said Watertown Police Det. Lt. Ken Swift.

“The victim said he was in the shower, heard a loud bang, as he pulled the shower curtain back, two males entered the room, made eye contact with him and they got spooked and fled the area,” Swift said.

A neighbor spotted two men kick the door to the man’s apartment off its hinges, and one of the men may have been holding a firearm, Swift said.

Police also received a report of an apartment of another building on Coolidge Hill Road that also had its door kicked in, Swift said. No one was home at the time.

Detectives identified the suspects as Adedire Sanni, 22, of Lynn, and a 17-year-old juvenile male from Lynn.

“We contacted the Lynn Police Department,” Swift said. “They stopped the (suspect’s) motor vehicle.”

Watertown Det. Joe Reynolds went to Lynn to place the suspects under arrests. Sanni and the juvenile were each charged with home invasion for the incident where the man was home, and breading and entering during the daytime for a felony.

Swift said the case remains under investigation.

  1. A person of that name appears on the Lynn Vo-Tec football team of 2019—go Tigers!—which fits the age. Perhaps the same Adedire Sanni of Lynn lists his credentials on LinkedIn as “Aspiring IT Professional,” who also “graduated from the top collegiate high school, Kipp Academy, as an Honor Roll Student” in 2022, which also fits. Now kicking in doors on of occupied apartments Coolidge Hill Road. I’m not kidding when I say I hope his IT skills are better than his B&E skills. It’s (probably) not too late, Adedire. The straight and narrow may be straight and narrow, but at least it’s in the right direction.
