
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Oct. 20: Two cars were broken into on Riverside Street. A wallet with credit cards, a license, and $100 in cash was taken from one car; and a wallet with a license, credit cards and $120 in cash went missing from the second. They were parked in the driveway and were likely left unlocked.
Oct. 20: In the overnight hours a vehicle was broken into on Boyd Street. The center console was rummaged through and $50 in loose change was taken. The vehicle was believed to have been left unlocked.
Oct. 20: A mattress, a grill, and a bed frame were dumped in the rear parking lot of the Watertown Boys & Girls Club.
Oct. 20: An air conditioner was left on the side of the road of Maplewood Street.
Oct. 20: A Chandler Road resident purchased an HP printer. On May 7, while trying to set it up, an error message popped up and instructed the resident to call a number. The man who answered said it would cost $1,170 to install security. The resident was told to write a check and scan it in using the printer, which he did. On Sept. 19, the resident had issues with the computer and called the same number. A man called back from a different number and said the resident’s computer had a virus and it would cost $3,070 to fix it. Again, he was told to write a check and scan it. On Oct. 17, the computer had issues again, and when the resident called the number he was told it would cost $21,000 to install a security system. The resident realized it was a scam and called police.
Oct. 21: A driver was seen driving erratically on Main Street. Officer Colton Bailey stopped the vehicle and when he spoke to the driver he saw an open beer can on the floor of the passenger seat, and multiple crushed Modelo beer cans. The driver admitted to drinking alcohol in Waltham two or three hours prior. Field sobriety tests were conducted and Dinora Yanez Cardona, 37 of Waltham, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
Oct. 21: Police requested a warrant for a man who had not completed work on a driveway. On Oct. 16, a man knocked on the door of a home on Edenfield Avenue and said the driveway needed to be fixed. The resident wrote a check for $2,000 to start the work. On Oct. 18, the paver came back and said he needed another $2,400, and the resident wrote another check. On the 21st the man came back for another $1,000. He had started to rip up part of the walkway. The resident believed he was being scammed. Officer Joe Farrar investigated and identified the suspect as William Pusateri, 58, of Dedham. A warrant was issued by Waltham District Court for Pusateri on two counts of larceny over $1,200 by false pretense, one count of attempted larceny under $1,200 by false pretense, and one count of being a common notorious thief.
Oct. 21: A man stole $12 worth of socks from Target.
Oct. 21: An Arsenal Street resident reported that someone filed a false unemployment claim in the resident’s name.
Oct. 22: Someone logged into the American Airlines account of a Repton Circle resident. The person was able to make multiple purchases using 115,000 points. The resident is working with American Airlines to resolve the issue.
Oct. 22: A woman was seen taking items on Oct. 20. Officer Mike Gryzelczk recognized the suspect and a summons was issued of a 54-year-old Dedham woman for shoplifting by concealment — third offense.
Oct. 22: Someone dumped a microwave on the side of the road on Arlington Street.
Oct. 22: A storm door was left on the side of Holt Street.
Oct. 23: A woman with a small dog took $75 in merchandise from CVS on Mt. Auburn Street.
Oct. 24: A stove was dumped on Bridge Street.
Oct. 24: A man took four pairs of sneakers from Nike worth a total of $355.
Oct. 24: Three men entered Ulta and took multiple bottles of perfume. The merchandise was worth a combined $1,946.
Oct. 24: A bike was taken from in front of Marshall’s.
Oct. 24: a small end table and a kids’ step stool was left on the side of Westminster Avenue.
Oct. 24: A television and a TV stand were dumped on Pine Street.
Oct. 28: Police are investigating a theft of about $9,000 in cash and checks from a safe inside St. Patrick’s Church. It is believed the incident occurred on the 27th at 5 p.m.
Oct. 28: A shoplifter was stopped at Target after taking $78 worth of merchandise. Officer Frank Forde responded and found she had a default warrant from Dorchester District Court for assault and battery. Asarel Price, 31, of Boston, was arrested for shoplifting and the warrant charge.
Oct. 29: A Google tablet worth $130 was taken from Target. The male suspect took the tablet off the display shelf and walked out of the store.
