Police Log: Man Caught Trying to Break Into Cars, Driver Arrested After Flipping Vehicle on Its Side

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.

Nov. 23: A dresser and a bookcase were dumped on the side of Main Street.

Nov. 26: Officer Mike Grzelcyk who responded to a Watertown home to serve a warrant. Adam Haloui, 23, of Watertown was placed under arrest for the default warrant out of Brighton District Court for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.

Nov. 26: A Puritan Road resident found an unauthorized withdrawal on a Citizens Bank account. Nearly $5,000 was charged.

Nov. 26: A package was taken from a home on Robert Ford Road. It contained a Christmas gift. The theft was reported on the 26th, but is believed to have been taken between Nov. 6 and 7.

Nov. 26: A Knowles Road resident saw a man walking up to cars in the parking lot and pulling on door handles as if to open them. The man was seen leaving on a black bicycle toward Lexington Street in Belmont.

Nov. 28: A Riverside Street resident was looking for an apartment on Redfin, and after clicking on a listing he was asked to enter his license information. He did so, and then later believed it was a fraudulent website so he reported it to police.

Nov. 28: A juvenile was caught taking $250 worth of items from Target. The suspect was a 12-year-old boy. The store decided to handle the incident internally, and the boy was trespassed from the store.

Nov. 29: A vehicle was parked in the parking lot of Home Depot and the owner came back to find a piece of the door handle had been popped off, causing damage to the keyhole.

Nov. 30: Police received reports of a vehicle that flipped on its side on Palfrey Street. Witnesses helped a man out of the vehicle. He began running toward Waverley Avenue. Officers located the man. They detected an odor of alcohol on his breath, and he had bloodshot and glassy eyes. Maksim Soberzhanskiy, 31 of Watertown, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of property damage, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Nov. 30: Officer Mike Hill responded to a report of man seen in a driveway on Ralph Street trying to enter two motor vehicles. Police also received a 911 call from Piermont Street which described a suspect which matched the report from Ralph Street. Officer Devon Shatkin located the suspect. Jonathan Porro-Quintanella, 25 formerly of Watertown, was arrested on one count of daytime breaking into a vehicle for a felony, two counts of attempts to break into a depository, and two counts of attempt to commit a crime.

Nov. 30: A package was stolen from Pleasant Street containing a package worth $158.

Nov. 30: A stop side fell into a homeowners’ fence on Riverside Street.

Nov. 30: Two men were seen concealing items at Target. One man was stopped by store security, and the other fled the area. The suspect detained told police that his friend, Lucca, told him to pick out records and they would resell them to a vinyl store in Brookline. Police found records in a grey back. They also located a white substance believed to be cocaine. Tyler Rogers, 25, of Brookline, was arrested on a charge of larceny under $1,200, possession of a Class B drug, and conspiracy. Police requested a warrant for the friend, identified as Marcos Rosado, 23, of Boston.

Dec. 1: A package was taken from a home on Bigelow Avenue. It contained $550 worth of home goods.

Dec. 1: Target reported that a man took a robe that cost $50.

Dec. 2: Newport Construction reported then left a Bobcat construction vehicle on Bigelow Avenue and someone stole the door and pane of glass valued at $2,231.
