Three Men Wanted for Assaulting Watertown Woman, Stealing Her Credit Cards

Watertown Police seek the identities of three men accused of assaulting a woman, stealing credit cards and using cards at Boston area stores. A woman was leaving a Boston nightclub alone and looking for her vehicle when three men offered to help her, according to Police. After finding her vehicle, one of the men drover her car back to Watertown, and the other two men followed in a separate vehicle. They went to her Watertown apartment and then allegedly assaulted the woman and stole numerous credit cards and other valuables, Police said. Watertown Police are investigating the incident and believe it may have been pre-planned.

Candidate for 2-Year School Committee Seat is a Parent and Teacher

The first candidate for the two-year School Committee seat has been certified to be on the ballot, and the first-time challenger has experience as a Watertown parent and as a teacher in another school system. Lindsay Mosca will run for the School Committee seat being vacated by Candace Miller, who announced she will step down because she is leaving town. The two-year seat will be on the Town Election ballot in November, but will be separate from the four-year School Committee seats. Mosca sent out the following information:

Watertown Police Seek Identity Suspects in an Assault and Theft from CVS

On July 16, 2017, at about 5 a.m. below six people came into CVS in Watertown Square and stole items from the store who were also involved in another crime that night. Watertown Police seek assistance identifying the six individuals involved in a theft from CVS at 27 Main St., Watertown. These six are are suspects in an assault and battery that occurred in the area on the same night. Mosquitos in Towns Near Watertown Have Tested Positive for West Nile Virus

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) has notified the Watertown Health Department that mosquitoes in our general geographic region have tested positive for West Nile Virus for the last two weeks, thus elevating the risk for human exposure to West Nile Virus. The warm and intermittent wet weather patterns have contributed to conditions that are favorable for the species of mosquitoes responsible for the spread of West Nile Virus. The Watertown Health Department urges that precautions against mosquito exposure need to be taken. Public health surveillance is conducted for mosquito-borne viruses – viruses that are carried and spread by mosquitoes. These viruses include West Nile Virus (WNV) and Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).
