Police Log: Man Stole Cash from Co-Worker; Man Pulled off Bus, Arrested

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.

Arrests

June 9, 1:16 p.m.: Detectives spotted a man they knew to have a warrant out for his arrest getting on a bus on Arsenal Street. They stopped the bus and removed the man. The 31-year-old man from Watertown was arrested on a warrant from Charlestown District Court for a drug violation.

June 9, 1:20 p.m.: Police arrested a 26-year-old Watertown man was arrested on domestic assault and battery charges.

June 11, 3:28 p.m.: A man put to pairs of headphones under his jacket and tried to leave Best Buy. When security confronted him he dropped one set of headphones and he ran across the street to the Arsenal Project. Police went to the mall, located the man and placed him under arrest. The 31-year-old man from Arlington was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.

June 12, 4:50 p.m.: Target security spotted a man take a Garmin GPS worth $199.99 and try to leave the store without paying. The 25-year-old Waltham man was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.

June 12, 10:13 p.m.: An officer patrolling on Mt. Auburn Street spotted a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. When the vehicle was pulled over the driver first gave a false name and then police discovered she had a suspended license. The 20-year-old woman from Norwood was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license, refusing to identify herself and no inspection sticker.

June 13, 1:08 a.m.: A 36-year-old Watertown man was arrested a charge of domestic assault and battery.

June 13, 8:47 a.m.: Detectives learned a man they had arrest warrants for was in town. They went to Templeton Parkway and arrested the 25-year-old Watertown man on three warrants from Cambridge District Court, each for larceny.

June 13, 9:29 a.m.: Police spotted a man at Starbucks who they knew they knew had outstanding warrants. The 27-year-old Watertown man was arrested on four warrants from Waltham District Court – three for traffic offenses and one for assault and battery – and two from Brighton District Court for drug violations.

June 13, 10:21 p.m.: An officer saw a dump truck parked in Watertown Square in a dangerous spot. When he pulled up next to the the truck he saw a woman in the passenger seat holding a can of beer. The began to drive away when he saw the police officer, but was pulled over. The officer detected an odor of alcohol on the breath of the driver and field sobriety tests were given. The 28-year-old Waltham man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license.

June 14, 6:02 p.m.: An employee at La Casa de Pedro discovered $144 in cash was taken from her purse when it was in a cubby in the locker room. When she told her boss, they checked security video and saw another employee reach into the purse and take the cash. Police were called and arrested the 30-year-old Watertown man on a charge of larceny from a building and a warrant from Boston District Court for assault and battery.

Incidents

June 11, 3 p.m.: The wire harness on a lawn mowing machine at Perkins School for the Blind was cut in two different spots, causing $300 in damage.

June 11, 6:21 p.m.: Target security spotted a woman they had seen shoplifting before in the store. She was seen taking Nicolozen nicotine gum and put it in her purse without paying. The 33-year-old Watertown woman was summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.

June 14, 5:04 p.m.: A shoplifter was seen taking a number of pieces of clothing worth $322.14 and tried to leave the store. The 21-year-old woman from Waltham was summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
