The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. 

Arrests

July 7, 3:18 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle after taking a left at a stop sign without stopping. The officer discovered the driver did not have a license. A 27-year-old man from Hyde Park was arrested on charges of unlicensed driving and failing to stop.

July 7, 5:51 p.m.: A 24-year-old Watertown woman was arrested on two counts of domestic assault and battery.

July 8, 12:56 a.m.: An officer spotted a car driving with no headlights or taillights on. The officer found that the driver had a revoked license. The 30-year-old Newton man was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

July 8, 3:38 p.m.: A teen was spotted taking several items off the shelf at Marshall’s and put them in his pocket and attempted to leave without paying. When he was stopped he gave a false name at first. The 14-year-old boy from Boston was arrested on charges of shoplifting over $100 and furnishing a false name.

July 9, 6:06 a.m.: An officer spotted a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. After stopping the vehicle, the officer found the driver had two warrants for his arrest. The 36-year-old West Roxbury man was arrested on charges of driving an unregistered vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, no inspection sticker and two warrants for traffic offenses – one from Waltham District Court and one from Concord District Court.

July 9, 9:03 a.m.: Police arrested a 17-year-old woman from Watertown for domestic assault and battery.

July 9, 11:17 a.m.: A man was spotted at Russo’s filling a shopping cart with items and attempted to leave without paying. The items were worth $179.95. A 51-year-old man from Watertown was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.

July 9, 1:50 p.m.: A man was detained by security at Target after he was observed taking a Bluetooth device and put it into a gym bag and attempted to leave without paying. The 27-year-old Cambridge man was arrested on charges of shoplifting.

July 10, 12:54 a.m.: Police arrested a 27-year-old man on charges of domestic assault and battery.

July 11, 9:27 p.m.: Police were investigating a larceny by check complaint at Stop & Shop on Watertown Street when employees told the officers that the suspect was back in the store and had attempted to cash a fraudulent check. The 27-year-old Watertown man was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property, forgery of a check, uttering a false check and attempting to commit a crime.

July 12, 2:33 a.m.: An officer patrolling on Mt. Auburn Street spotted two women arguing in front of New Yorker Diner. The officer stopped them and they said they were friends and were having an argument. Then they began yelling and arguing again. One of the women said that her friend took her credit cards and IDs from her. A 26-year-old Watertown woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and a 24-year-old Malden woman was arrested for disorderly conduct, a warrant from Dedham District Court for two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and receiving stolen property.

July 13, 8:46 a.m.: A 42-year-old Watertown man was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a cordless phone.

 

Incidents

July 7, 10:42 a.m.: A storage container at a business on Arlington Street was broken into. The lock was broken off, but nothing appeared to be missing.

July 9, 12:23 p.m.: A Lovell Road resident found that someone broke into his vehicle that had been parked in the driveway. A Lenovo notebook computer was missing. There are no signs of forced entry.

July 10, 8:23 p.m.: A Specialized Crossroad bike was taken from a garage on Edenfield Avenue.

July 11, 11:21 a.m.: A woman said she left her apartment at the Riverside Apartments and came back to find her front door open and a safe pried open. Assorted jewelry was taken.

July 12, 8:30 p.m.: A woman went into Dyer Liquors and took a bottle of Hennessy worth $37, put it in a bag and attempted to leave without paying. The manager followed the woman out of the store and when he confronted her she hit him in the chest and ran away.
