The Raiders team had a tough start to the 2014-15 boys’ basketball season against their rivals from Belmont Tuesday night.

The game started well for Watertown, which lead by 8 at the end of the first quarter, and 26-23 at halftime. The Marauders, however, looked different in the second half, outscoring the Raiders 43-23 in the second half. Belmont hit six 3-pointers in the second half after making none in the first half.

Watertown was led by senior guard Mike Hagopian, who scored 18 points including two 3-pointers. Junior guard Brendan Hoban added 11 points and junior center Derek Dipietrantonio scored 10 points.

Belmont senior center Adam Kleckner accounted for most of the Marauders’ scoring in the first half, with 17 of his game high 23 in the first two quarters. Junior guard Matthew Kerans scored 15 – including 13 in the second half – and senior guard Seth Altman added 12.
