Many adults have learned the benefits of yoga, and now a local studio will provide classes for children.

The Om Namo Center, 21 Belmont St. in Cambridge (just over the line from Watertown) will run Kids Yoga with Ali Sager from Feb. 2-25.

“Research has found that yoga for kids boosts concentration, confidence, and overall mental well-being, while also increasing physical flexibility, balance, and strength. Plus, starting kids on yoga early will help them to learn the healthy and life-long habit of good self-care!,” Sager said in her announcement about the classes.

Classes are available for three age groups:

  • 3-6 years: Mondays 3:30-4:15PM
  • 7-11 years: Wednesdays 3:30-4:30PM
  • 12-16 years: Mondays 4:30-5:30PM

Classes cost $15 drop in for all levels.

Beginning in March, a new 6-week series will start with kids classes allowing guests to purchase a six class card at a reduced rate. For more information go to omnamocenter.com/kids-yoga/ or call 617-868-0756.
