Members of a regional drug task force arrested a man they suspected of being involved in a drug deal, but the charges were not for possession of drugs.

On Jan. 30 at around 4 p.m. members of the Middlesex County Drug Task Force were in Watertown on an investigation.

“Officers were on Thayer Road where they observed an exchange between two individuals who were known to the officers,” said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

When officers approached, a suspect identified as Thomas McDonough ran away.

“They observed McDonough reaching into a snow bank,” Lawn said.

When officers caught up to McDonough, he began yelling and causing a disturbance, Lawn said. They arrested McDonough, 26, of Watertown, on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Officers could not locate any drugs.
