The Armenian Memorial Church of Watertown will hold its Annual Fair on Friday, May 29, from 5-8 p.m., and on Sat., May 30 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., rain or shine. The public is invited to attend.
The fair features fabulous beef, chicken, and losh (ground meat) kebab dinners complete with sauce, rice pilaf, salad, and pita bread. A selection of Armenian vegetarian meals will also be available.
Church volunteers are known for their fine cooking and have been preparing and many other homemade baked goods, including Armenian delicacies of cheoreg, mante, paklava, kadayif, and beureg will be available, too.
The Annual Fair will also feature a sale of household items at bargain prices and a variety of vendor tables.
The fair committee includes Chair Christine Mekjian of Watertown, Adrine Beurklian Anahid Salakian and Roberta Vanderkeyl of Watertown; Gregg Ohanian of Woburn; Angel Parseghian and Vicky Tomasian of Belmont; Jonathan Hartunian of Lexington; Scott Yerganian of Medfield; Susan Parseghian of Arlington; and Marilyn Coughlan of Needham.
“While the fair is the largest fundraiser of the year, the church sets aside 10 percent of the proceeds to a worthy charity. This year’s funds will be donated to Project SAVE in Watertown, which has been preserving Armenian photographs,” said the event announcement.
