Police Log: Items Taken from Best Buy at Night, Drunken Man Nabbed at Home Depot

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.

Arrests

July 28, 6:17 p.m.: The state Probation Department contacted Watertown Police about a man violating probation out of Lowell District Court. Officers served a warrant and arrested a 47-year-old Watertown man on Lyons Court.

July 28, 8:55 p.m.: Employees at Home Depot spotted a man stumbling around the store and appeared to be drunk. When Police arrived they located the man in the parking lot. When they ran the man’s name through the system, officers found he had three active warrants. The 30-year-old homeless man was arrested on the three warrants – one each from Hingham District Court, Boston District Court and Waltham District Court.

Incidents

July 29, 10:27 a.m.: Best Buy employees discovered that two Samsung Smart Watches, worth $330 each, were missing from a store display. Later an employee noticed a $648 Samsung smartphone was also missing. The items went missing overnight, and the store has had contractors and workers come in at night to do construction. Police are investigating.

July 29, 11:35 a.m.: A home on Fayette Street was egged sometime between 7-11 p.m. the previous day.

July 30, 9:23 p.m.:  Eight hanging plants outside the Century 21 real estate office on Mt. Auburn Street were taken on July 17. They were reportedly worth $650.

July 31, 9:02 a.m.: An package from Amazon containing a laptop computer and DVD drive was taken from the back door of a home on Charles Street.
