OBIT: Virginia (Bell) Melanson, 80, Raised Her Family in Watertown

A Funeral Home Service will be celebrated on Wednesday Sept. 23, 2015 in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home for Virginia Ethel (Bell) Melanson.

Mrs. Melanson passed away in the St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Boston on Friday after a lengthy period of declining health. A daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Caunt) Bell. She was 80 years old.

Born in Needham, she and her family moved to New Hampshire. In 1957 she married her husband Kenneth and settled in Watertown and raised her family. She loved to travel, do crafts, sew, but mostly loved being near her grandchildren and family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth J. Melanson. Devoted mother of Watertown Fire Captain David A. of Watertown, Stephen A. and his wife Tina of Lakeville,

Daniel E. and his wife Sarmila of Watertown and Susan J. Pantalone and her husband Nicholas of Watertown. Loving grandmother of David A., Jr. and Kelly Melanson and Andrew Pantalone. Dear sister of Robert, James, Ronald, Kenneth Bell and the late Edward, Charles and Leslie Bell.

A Funeral Service will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., Watertown on Wednesday Sept. 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
