OBIT: Dominic Zaccagnini, 94, Navy Veteran, Worked at Hood Rubber

A Funeral Mass for Dominic Philip Zaccagnini will be celebrated in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown on Thursday Nov. 12, 2015 at 9 a.m.

Mr. Zaccagnini, son of the late Pietro and Rosa (Piscatelli) Zaccagnini, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, after a period of declining health. 

Phil was born in Watertown, where he lived his entire 94 years.

Phil worked for the Hood Rubber Company as a pipefitter and the B.F. Goodrich Company as a mechanic. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August of 1943 serving on several Navy vessels, including overseas in South Africa. He received the Victory Medal, American Theater Medal, Asiatic Medal and European Theater Medal before being discharged in June of 1946.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rita E. (Deveau). Devoted father of Jayne R. Zaccagnini of Arlington and Carol A. Najarian of Duxbury. Loving grandfather of Michael K. Najarian and his wife Sedgie, Danielle M. Najarian and Margot L. Duran and her husband David, great grandfather of Bode L. Najarian. Dear brother of the late Emma Mancini, Teresa D’Amico, Daniel Zaccagnini, Florence Power and Anthony Zaccagnini.

Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. in Watertown on Thursday Nov. 12,  2015 at 8 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Visiting hours are Wednesday 3-7 p.m. 

Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
