OBIT: Julia Phillips, 88, Former Supervisor of Elliot House at Harvard

A Funeral Service will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral home, Watertown on Monday November 23, 2015 for Julia k. (Broderick) Phillips at noon.

Mrs. Phillips came to the U.S. from Ballinakell in County Galway, Ireland, in 1948. She passed away in the Bay Path of Duxbury Center on Thursday evening, November 19, 2015. A daughter of the late Thomas and Julia (Finnerty) Broderick. She was 88.

Julia was a long time resident of Watertown. She was a supervisor of the Elliot House, Harvard University for 24 years, retiring in June of 1994. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Cambridge Armory & St. Mary’s Church. She was on Barbara’s Bowling Team. And the women’s bowling league at Wal-lex lanes. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late John P. Phillips. Devoted mother of Maureen Capone and her husband Ed of Pennsylvania, James Phillips and his wife Debbie of Plymouth, Patricia Lynch and her husband Matthew of Duxbury and John Phillips and his wife Julie of Randolph. Loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Mattie Broderick, and the late Martin, James, Michael, Francis, Thomas, Matthew, John, Patrick, Laurence, Christina Broderick, Mary Butler and Delia Anderson all of Ireland.

A Funeral Service will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Monday Nov. 23, 2015 at noon. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.

Visiting hours are Sunday 4-7 p.m. Memorials in Julia’s name may be made to the charity of ones choice,
