Police Log: $8,000 Snow Blowing Equipment Stolen, Shoplifter Nabbed with Vacuum

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.

Arrests

Feb. 12, 1:20 a.m.: An officer pulled over a Dodge Challenger after seeing it run a red light at Arsenal Street and Irving Street. After checking the driver’s record, police discovered he had a suspended license. The 28-year-old Watertown man was arrested on charges of a red light violation and driving with a suspended license.

Feb. 12, 3:53 p.m.: Target security stopped a man who was spotted taking a Dyson vacuum cleaner and left without paying. Security caught up with the man in the parking lot and detained him. The vacuum was worth $499.99. The 43-year-old Malden man was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.

Incidents

Feb. 9, 10:49 p.m.: A vehicle parked in the lot at the Ryan Skating Arena was broken into. A money clip which held four credit cards and an ID was taken, along with a gold watch valued at $200. There were no signs of forced entry.

Feb. 12, 1:51 p.m.: A snowblower attachment for a Bobcat vehicle was stolen from the rear of the Arsenal Mall. It had been stored on top of a storage container in the loading dock. It is worth $8,000. Police are investigating.

Feb. 12, 8:52 p.m.: A Jeep was broken into no Highland Avenue and was rummaged through. Nothing appeared to be missing.
