MassBay Community College Hosting Job Fairs for Health, Technology

MassBay Community College announced two upcoming job fairs, one focusing on health science and the other for technology internships.

Annual Health Career Exploration Fair

Massachusetts Bay Community College will hold its second annual Health Career Exploration Fair on Saturday, April 9, 2016 10 a.m.-12 p.m. College faculty, staff and current students will be on hand to greet and welcome prospective students and their families to the Framingham campus to showcase the Health Science programs and possible career paths for students.

The Health Career Exploration Fair is an opportunity for prospective students to meet and talk with current students, faculty and staff to learn about the degree and certificate programs that are available at MassBay, as well as the non-credit program offerings including; Practical Nursing, Associate Degree Nursing, Surgical Technology, Paramedicine, Emergency Medical Technician, Central Processing, Radiologic Technology, Medical Coding, Medical Office, Phlebotomy, Nursing Assistant, Clinical Healthcare Informatics Certificate and CPR Training. The Fair will include a tour of campus, tours of the lab areas, financial aid information table, student support services, on-the-spot admissions, and more. At a time when the healthcare industry is searching for employees who have skills in the high-demand health science fields, MassBay is providing a much needed source of workers who have the education and training to fill these critically important positions.

This event is free and open to the public. We encourage prospective students, business and industry professionals, community organizations, as well as local high school teachers and administrators to attend. The Fair provides a window into the exciting hands-on programs that students are enrolled in at the college and what prospective students can expect once enrolled.

Technology Internship Speed Interviewing

Massachusetts Bay Community College’s STEM Division will hold its bi-annual Technology Internship Program (TIP) Speed Interviewing Event onThursday, April 21, 2016 8:45-11 a.m. Local employers who are looking for workforce-ready technical skilled interns are encouraged to sign up to participate in this speed interviewing event.

This 2-hour event, based on the speed dating concept, matches employers and MassBay students for quick 7-10 minute interviews, to see if there might be a possible match for an internship. This is a great opportunity for local companies to connect with students for a possible internship or employment. Students can help businesses in a variety of ways including; help desk support, query databases, general reporting, diagnose and repair laptops, install hardware and software, support a network environment, provide cybersecurity strategies, redesign your website, develop site content/graphics/banners, support data driven websites, programming and more.

This event is free and open to local businesses looking for interns. Businesses have no obligation to hire an intern, but must register for the event at http://tinyurl.com/MassBayTIP.
