Watertown Police took three people into custody on Jan. 17 on charges stemming from a home invasion that took place earlier that day in Wilmington.
Police in Wilmington received a call at about 2 a.m. on Jan. 17 from a residence in that town reporting the home invasion, said Wilmington Police Lt. Brian Pupa.
After an investigation, Wilmington Police linked the home invasion to an incident that occurred on the afternoon of the previous day.
“It wasn’t a random incident,” Pupa said. “It happened between a couple groups known to each other.”
The investigation also led Wilmington Police to suspects in Watertown. The three suspects – two men and a woman – were located by Watertown Police on Dartmouth Street in Watertown and the suspects were placed under arrest at about 3:45 a.m. on Jan. 17, Pupa said.
When they were arrested one suspect, identified as Leo Leitner of Watertown, had a firearm with the serial number removed, for which he did not have a license.
Leo M. Leitner, 21, of 43 Dartmouth St. in Watertown, was charged with home invasion, unarmed robbery, defacing a fire arm by removing the serial number, carrying a firearm without a license, and possession of ammunition.
Daniel Edward Reilly, 24, of 14 Green St. in Watertown, and Arianna L. Casterlin, 19, of 95 Audubon Road Apt. 611 in Wakefield, were both arrested on charges of home invasion and unarmed robbery.
