Two familiar faces at the Watertown Recreation Department were honored for their long service to the youth of Watertown last week.

Coaches Dick Crowley and Tom Furbush were thanked by the Recreation Department during a retirement luncheon held at the Mount Auburn Grill. Also honored at the event were former Recreation Director Tom Sullivan, current Director Peter Centola and Assistant Director Ernie Thebado.

Crowley started as a playground instructor with the Recreation Department in 1958, and later worked as a summer camp coach.

Furbush first coached in Watertown in 1984 in Babe Ruth baseball. After retiring from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, he brought his coaching talents to the Recreation Department in 1994 to coach baseball.
