Watertown junior John Korte was named Most Valuable Player of the Middlesex League Freedom.

Watertown swept the top honors of the Middlesex League basketball post-season awards, claiming the MVP for both the boys and girls.

The Middlesex League coaches voted junior John Korte and senior Shannon Murphy as Most Valuable Players of Middlesex League Freedom.

Watertown’s Shannon Murphy became the Middlesex League Freedom MVP.

The Raiders also got other spots on the Middlesex All-Stars. Junior Julio Fulcar made the boys team, while junior Cali McMahon was named to the girls All-Stars.

Both squads begin State Tournament play this week. Tuesday night, the girls (14-4) host Chelsea at 7 p.m. On Friday, the boys (18-2) host a quarterfinal at 7 p.m. against either North Reading or Greater Lawrence.
