Watertown News and Watertown Cable Access will host a pair of candidate forums featuring the people running for Town Councilor At-Large and School Committee in the Town Election.
The forums will be held in the Watertown Savings Bank Room at the Watertown Free Public Library, 123 Main Street, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and will also be broadcast live on Watertown Cable. The forums will be rebroadcast on later dates.
The first forum will be on Thursday, Oct. 12, and it will include the six candidates for the four-year School Committee seats. Before the forum, candidates for Library Trustee and for the two-year School Committee seat will have an opportunity to briefly address the audience.
On Thursday, Oct. 19, the candidates for Town Councilor At-Large will appear. Before they go on, the Councilors running unopposed will have a chance to address the audience briefly.
At both forums, some questions will be prepared by the forum organizers, but audience members will also have a chance to submit a question in writing.
The event is free and open to the public. The Town Election will be on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Do you know why it is that this month’s Planning Board meeting is also scheduled for Thursday the 19th? It is usually held on the second Wednesday of the month.
It was moved so that the Planning Board members could attend, there were conflicts with the original date.
