On Thursday evening Watertown News and Watertown Cable Access will host the School Committee candidates in a forum, and next week the Town Council Candidates will have their turn.
The forums will be held in the Watertown Savings Bank Room at the Watertown Free Public Library, 123 Main Street, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and will also be broadcast live on Watertown Cable. The forums will be rebroadcast on later dates.
On Thursday, Oct. 12, the six candidates for the four-year School Committee seats will appear. Before the forum, candidates for Library Trustee and for the two-year School Committee seat will have an opportunity to briefly address the audience.
The following Thursday, Oct. 19, the candidates for Town Councilor At-Large will appear. Before they go on, the Councilors running unopposed will have a chance to address the audience briefly.
At both forums, some questions will be prepared by the forum organizers, but audience members will also have a chance to submit a question in writing.
The events are free and open to the public. The Town Election will be on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
