A Boston man and a New Jersey man face drug dealing charges after being arrested by police following an investigation by drug investigators from Middlesex County and Boston.

On the afternoon of Oct. 21 members of the Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force – which includes an officer from Watertown – working with the Boston Police Drug Control Unit were watching two individuals in the parking lot of Target on Arsenal Street, near Friendly’s, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady.

“The officers observed behavior consistent with drug dealing,” Grady said. “They saw the opportunity to intercede and both groups stopped the gentlemen.”

Officers approached the 2010 Kia and identified the men as Juan Bautista Rodriguez, 29 of Trenton, N.J., and Juan German, 30 of Boston, Grady said. Both arrested and taken to the Watertown Police Station.

Both suspects were charged with distribution of a Class B substance – fentanyl, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. In addition, Rodriguez was charged with operating an uninsured vehicle and operating with a revoked registration.
