WHS Sports: Boys Soccer Team Moves on in Tourney, Swimming Relays Qualify for States

Watertown will host some Monday night futbol when the boys soccer team hosts a North Section quarterfinal on at Victory Field. 

The fifth-seeded Raiders rolled in the first round game against No. 12 Whittier Tech, winning 4-0. Because 13th-seeded Bedford beat the fourth-seeded Newburyport, Watertown gets to host the tournament game.

The game begins at 7 p.m. on Nov. 6 with the winner moving on to the North Semifinal on Wednesday at Woburn High School against the winner of the Wayland-Weston game.

Swimming

The Arlington-Watertown girls swimming team lost its final two dual meets of the year against Winchester and Lexington, but the team qualified two relay team to the state meet.

The 200 medley relay team of Lily Barker (back), Niamh Murphy (breast), Kat Nilov (fly) and Jasmine Moayedzadeh Rad (free) swam a time of 2:07.79 against Winchester.

The team of Li Ping Titterington, Jasmine Moayedzadeh Rad, Kat Nilov and Lily Barker finished the 400 free relay in 4:08.44 in the same meet.

The North Sectional Meet will be held on Nov. 11 at MIT.
