Anthony Donato won the race for Watertown Town Councilor At-Large by nearly 400 votes, but he did not win every precinct in Tuesday’s Watertown Town Election. See how the candidates for Council and School Committee fared in the precinct-by-precinct results.
In the race for the four Town Councilor At-Large seats, Donato got the most votes in seven of 12 precincts – 1, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12 – while second place Caroline Bays won three precincts – 2, 4, 9. Third place candidate and incumbent Tony Palomba won Precincts 3 and 5.
Donato’s best showings were on the west side of town – precincts 10-12 – where he won each by at least 85 votes, and precinct 10 by 134 votes.
Fourth place candidate Michael Dattoli, who got the final seat, fared best in precincts 10, 11 and 12, where he finished second.
Bays had the most second place precincts – 1, 6, 7 and 8. Palomba got the second most votes in precincts 2 (tie), 3 and 4 and Donato was the runner-up in precincts 2 (tie), 5 and 9.
The highest vote total in a precinct was Donato’s 403 in precinct 10. Bays’ top precinct was precinct 4 where she got 367. Palomba received 355 votes in precinct 4, and Dattoli’s got the most votes (289) in precinct 7.
Challenger David Stokes’ best precinct was 8 where he got 185 votes, while Michell Cokonougher had 125 votes in the same precinct.

Amy Donohue topped the candidates for School Committee with 2,549 votes. She got the most votes in 10 precincts – all but 4 and 5. Second place candidate John Portz got the most votes in those precincts.
Lily Rayman-Read took the third and final spot on the School Committee. Her best finish was second in precincts 8 and 9.
Liz Yusem finished just 26 votes behind Rayman-Read. Head-to-head, Yusem beat Rayman-Read in seven of 12 precincts. However, Rayman-Read won by larger margins, including by 72 in precinct 8. Yusem’s biggest margin over Rayman-Read was 45 in precinct 3.
Donohue’s best showing was in precinct 7 where she got 326 votes. Portz’s best precinct was 4 where he received 306 votes. Rayman-Read had 243 votes in precinct 8, while Yusem’s best precinct was 4 where she got 229 votes. Guido Guidotti got 179 votes in precinct 7, while Michael Shepard had 123 votes in precinct 10.
In total, 4,758 of 23,521 registered Watertown voters cast ballots on Tuesday, for a 20.23 percent turnout.
