Many Stores at Arsenal Yards Closing During Coronavirus, See How to Get Your Coffee

The Majestic 7 movie theaters have opened at Arsenal Yards.

The recently opened Majestic 7 is one of several places at Arsenal Yards that will close temporarily due to the Coronavirus.

Most of the retail stores at Watertown’s Arsenal Yards have closed due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the area. The new cinema and two of the new restaurants were also impacted.

On Friday, Marshalls announced it will be closing its Watertown store temporarily, Arsenal Yards announced on its Facebook page:

Starting today, Marshalls at Arsenal Yards will be closed for the next two weeks. TJX has made the decision to close all their stores globally to help prevent the further spread of the virus. For more information, please visit: https://bit.ly/2QwGzQB

This follows the closing of The Gap Factory store and Old Navy at the remodeled Arsenal Mall. Arsenal Yards announced Thursday:

Out of safety for their employees and our community, Gap Factory has temporarily closed. Old Navy will also be closing temporarily beginning tomorrow, 3/19. The new movie theater, The Majestic 7, also announced on Facebook it would be closing due to COVID-19.

“We are closing our doors as of 6 PM tonight, for an unknown amount of time. We are unsure as to when we will reopen, and are following guidelines set by the State, the CDC and the WHO. We will let you know in advance of our planned reopening. For the safety of all we hope that you stay vigilant in your efforts against COVID-19 and Coronavirus. We will miss having you and look forward to seeing you again soon!”

One of the newest eateries to open at Arsenal Yards, City Works Eatery and Pour House, announced on March 17 that it will postpone its grand opening due to the health and safety of the community and employees. They added: “As this is a very fluid and ever-changing situation, we will keep you posted on any updates. We appreciate your patience and understanding!”

On March 16, Shake Shack, a new addition to Arsenal Yards, announced it will be going to take-out only: Starting today (3/16), we are open for to-go, pick-up + delivery orders only and will not offer dine-in at our U.S. Shacks. Head to the Shack App, order.shakeshack.com or order delivery via Grubhub + we’ll waive the delivery fees. We value the well-being + safety of our community above all else and are thankful for the privilege to continue to serve you.

Chipotle’s Watertown location is open for take out and delivery only, according to the Arsenal Yards website.

Coffee

The two major purveyors of coffee in town, Dunkin’ and Starbucks, announced they will be doing only pick up orders or delivery.

On Dunkin’s website, they announced that they will not be allowing patrons to dine in, but they can take out orders from the counter, order on the app for pick up or get them delivered.

On Thursday, Starbucks on Mt. Auburn Street in Watertown announced on Instagram that it will be open only for mobile orders only. The Starbucks app is available at the Apple App Store or Google Play.
