The Mass. Department of Unemployment Assistance will host a series of town hall meetings which people can join by phone or online.
The sessions will help people file unemployment claims and get other questions answered. Those joining by computer can do so that day, but people joining by phone need to register by 5:30 p.m. the day before.
The Mass. DUA sent out the following statement:
In order to better meet the needs of customers whose employment has been affected by the coronavirus, DUA will be hosting daily town hall meetings where we will take our constituents through a step by step process of achieving a successful unemployment claim and taking questions from claimants across the Commonwealth. The DUA provided the following instructions.
For those of you joining on the phone only, you can press *3 to ask us a question and a live person will put your question in the queue. To receive the call invitation you must sign up for a specific town hall time and date below. Online viewers will see a PowerPoint presentation with visuals to accompany the discussion. Please enroll by 5:30 the night before in order to receive a call.
For those of you following along online you don’t have to sign up ahead of time, just click this link and the presentation will begin at the scheduled time. Online viewers can also ask a question through the chat function on your screen.
