Jan. 19, 3:20 p.m.: A man came into CVS on Main Street and took some razors off the shelf but did not pay for them before leaving. The store manager called Police and gave them a description of the suspect. The man was identified and the 38-year-old Medford man was summonsed to Waltham District Court on a charge of shoplifting. Also, the store trespassed the man.

Jan. 19, 630 p.m.: A vehicle on Hillside Road was vandalized. The rear window of the 2020 Ford Explorer was shattered out. The owner said that between 9 and 10 a.m. she heard a loud noise from in front of her home and when she looked out the window she saw what she believed to be a white male dressed in a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head and shorts. The suspect ran toward Maplewood Street, entered a black pickup truck and drove away. It does not appear anything was taken from the vehicle.

Jan. 21, 3:26 p.m.: A Boston woman reported that she lost a bag containing her Social Security Card, passport and a permanent resident card. She believes she lost it while she was at Chipotle on Jan. 4 around 4 p.m. She returned to the restaurant to try to locate the bag but was unsuccessful. The employees said nothing was turned in and they found nothing suspicious on the video.

Jan. 21, 6:08 p.m.: Police went to Target for a shoplifting that had just occurred. Security spotted the suspect, who was known to them from prior incidents. The man went through self checkout but was using his own fraudulent UPC codes and placed them on top of the real price tags. They rang up for a 95 cent Arizona Ice Tea. He bought clothing, electronics and various household items, with a total value of $139.57. The man left, but Police located him in the parking lot. As he was heading to a vehicle officers stopped him. Police also found the vehicle he was using was unregistered and uninsured, and had license plates that did not belong to the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, the 28-year-old Boston man was summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting, retail price tag fraud, driving an unlicensed vehicle, driving an unregistered vehicle and attaching plates.

Jan. 22, 2:26 p.m.: A Watertown woman attempted to purchase a KitchenAid mixer on Instagram marketplace. She clicked on what looked like an official Crate & Barrel KitchenAid ad to get to the site where she made the purchase. She sent a $100 payment using an AMEX gift card, but it appeared to her that the first payment did not get processed properly, so she sent a second $100 payment. Later she found that both payments were taken, and realized that it was scam. AMEX representatives said that the address used in the transactions came from Minnesota. American Express is following up on the incident.

Jan. 24, 12:10 p.m.: A driver in the vicinity of Olcott Street saw a white Toyota Camry attempting to merge onto Main Street. The person stopped and allowed the Toyota onto Main Street, at which point the driver of the Toyota threw a small bag of trash onto the street. The first driver shouted his displeasure about the man throwing trash onto the street. As he continued down Main Street the first driver noticed the Toyota behind him. While he was in Waltham, in the area of Main Street and Willow Road, the driver of the Toyota held up what appeared to be a silver handgun. The man stopped near St. Patrick’s Cemetery and contacted Watertown Police. They contacted Waltham Police, who and took over because the crime occurred in their jurisdiction.

  1. What does this mean “the store trespassed the man”? In that same first story, I think it’s supposed to say “did NOT pay”, not “did pay”, right?
