  1. Wish Mike Driscoll well on his deserved retirement. Full funded pension claim is not a feather in any hat when a town allows so much debt to build in the first place! These are the first things a town stops paying so they can spend on other bills. Taking bow for paying off credit card debt but they were there letting so much debt to build up?

    • Every community in the state has had problems with retirement and benefits. It goes back to the economic downturn at the end of the first decade of the 21st century when investments went south. There were probably other issues causing it, but Watertown certainly is not alone.

  2. Mike you have left a strong foundation for your successor, and a wonderful legacy for Watertown. Thanks for your decades of service!

  3. Thank you for your consistently navigating changing Watertown priorities and keeping us in great financial shape! Good luck to you and your family! I hope you enjoy your time away from City Hall!
    take care!

  4. City Manager Driscoll should be commended for his fair and strong leadership to the people and employees of the Town throughout his tenure! He should also be complimented for his laser like focus on funding the pension plan! This will provide interrupted payments to members and beneficiaries of the City! I hope he fully enjoys his well deserved retirement!
