Taffer’s Tavern, the innovative, full-service restaurant concept founded by leading hospitality expert and star of Paramount Network’s Bar Rescue, Jon Taffer, has announced that it is now accepting reservations for its first Boston area location in Watertown at Arsenal Yards, the thriving new neighborhood located along the Charles River.
The restaurant will open to the public on Wednesday, Aug. 31 with a Grand Opening ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Jon Taffer on Sept. 8. The Massachusetts opening marks the third Taffer’s Tavern location for the casual dining franchise, and first of many locations to come to the Greater Boston area.

Inspired by the quintessential neighborhood pub, a regular gathering place for friends and family alike, Taffer’s Tavern is designed with traditional Old-World taverns in mind, with an ambiance that is inviting, warm and comfortable, distinguished by dark woods, soft leathers, copper accents and elevated tavern food and beverage offerings. The innovative restaurant concept, developed by Taffer, features the industry’s highest safety standards for both guests and staff. It is led by the kitchen and bar of the future and features the latest advancements in food prep/service technology.

Taffer’s Tavern is opening at Watertown’s Arsenal Yards in 2022.
The menu will include favorites such as Braised Short Rib & Tot Roast Fries. New to the menu and specifically for Boston area locations will be New England Clam Chowder (traditional chowder filled with a generous portion of clam meat, slow-cooked in rich clam broth with sweet corn and tender potatoes, served with oyster crackers) and a Lobster Roll (large, chilled lobster chunks prepared Maine-style with mayo and lemon, stuffed into the top of a warm, brioche bun).
Taffer’s Tavern boasts a best-in-class beverage program that Taffer crafted and features a diverse selection of spirits, wines, and beers, many of local and regional provenance. Its signature cocktails employ some of the most advanced mixology techniques while staying on-trend and introducing photo-worthy cocktails that taste even better than they look. Guest favorites include The Campfire (Taffer’s trademarked Browned Butter Whiskey, bitters and simple syrup is a perfect blend of bold flavors balanced with velvet-like smoothness) and Berry-Impressive (fruit-infused vodka layered with lemon, served bursting with fresh mixed berries in a French Press) among a number of other crafted cocktails and “As Seen on Bar Rescue” recipes.
Taffer’s Tavern joins Arsenal Yards’ current lineup of restaurants, shops, hotels and residential areas. The site looks onto the new Bond Square, the development’s outdoor pedestrian space, which is filled with bustling restaurant patios, shops, fitness, and entertainment. Local fine arts painter and muralist Adam O’Day recently completed an expansive mural on the Taffer’s Tavern exterior wall that pays homage to the Old-World taverns that have graced Boston’s historic streets for centuries. The vibrant work of art is visible from Arsenal Street and will serve as a guidepost to welcome guests to Taffer’s Tavern alongside the Charles River.
