Watertown Students from 7 Colleges Earn Academic Honors

Fifteen students from Watertown earned academic honors for the Fall 2023 semester from Regis College, James Madison University, Nichols College, University of Alabama, University of Rhode Island, Boston University and Lasell University.

The following announcements were provided by the colleges and universities.

Regis College

Regis College proudly announces the university’s Fall 2023 Dean’s List recognizing their outstanding academic achievements.

“Being named to the Dean’s List is a recognition of a students’ semester-long unwavering commitment to their academic program,” said Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Mary Erina Driscoll, PhD. “Regis is committed to building students’ character and confidence as they are intellectually prepared for a life and career of meaning through an inclusive and innovative environment. Our students steadfast commitment to academic excellence is reflected in being named to the Dean’s List.”

To earn a spot on the Dean’s List, Regis sophomores, juniors, seniors, and professional studies students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher; first-year students must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Additional criteria can be found in Regis’ Academic Catalog.

James Madison University

Camndon Reed of Harrisonburg, and formerly Watertown, has been named to the president’s list at James Madison University for the fall 2023 semester. Students who earn president’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.900 or above. Reed is majoring in Engineering – BS.

Nichols College

Seananthony McCusker of Watertown, MA, is one of more than 220 students who achieved Dean’s List honors during the fall 2023 semester at Nichols College.

Dean’s List recognizes those students who achieve high grades during a single semester. In order to be included on the Dean’s List, a student must have a minimum average of 3.5 for at least 12 undergraduate credit-hours and must have received no grades below B- during the semester.

University of Alabama

Avaree Crockton was named to The University of Alabama Deans List for fall semester 2023.

A total of 13,950 students enrolled during fall semester 2023 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). These driven students are making waves across UA’s more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.

The UA dean’s and president’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

University of Rhode Island

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce the Fall 2023 Dean’s List. Students named to the Dean’s List represent nearly all of Rhode Island’s cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, and many other states and countries. They include:

Alexandra Karalis of Watertown

Nicholas Pepe of Watertown

Eden Salley of Watertown

To be included on the Dean’s List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Boston University

Sofi Dushku was named to the Boston University College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s List for the fall semester of 2023.

Dean’s List is an honor awarded to those CAS students who earned at least 15 academic credits and had a semester GPI of 3.5 or higher.

Lasell University

The Fall 2023 Dean’s List includes students who have completed at least 12 credits as a full-time student in that semester and have achieved a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.
