The Watertown Police Department named the Officer of the Month for July 2025. See details in the WPD’s announcement below.
Please join us in congratulating Officer Colton Bailey, who has been named the Watertown Police Department’s Officer of the Month for July.
Officer Bailey has consistently demonstrated professionalism, initiative, and leadership while serving on C Platoon. Known for his proactive work ethic and commitment to public safety, he also serves as a mentor to newer officers, helping to build their skills and confidence.
His recent accomplishments include:
- Assisting in containing a fire on Pequossette Street, likely preventing further damage or injury
- Leading a successful investigation that resulted in the license suspension of a repeat dangerous driver
- Safely apprehending an erratic operator and making a second arrest of the same individual for continued unsafe behavior
In recognition of his outstanding service, Officer Bailey has been assigned exclusive use of our EV Mach E cruiser for the month.
We thank Officer Bailey for his dedication and commend him for his ongoing contributions to our community.
Well done, Officer Bailey!
Thank you, indeed, Officer Bailey! Now, if there were only a way to keep these recidivists off the streets before they hurt someone other than themselves. There’s enough danger and red tape in one arrest, let alone two, three, four. Our gratitude would be better expressed by a justice system that prioritized safety over the “civil liberty” to put the lives of others, especially police officers, at risk.
