Dozens of Watertown students earned honors at their colleges or universities during the spring semester of 2025. See the announcements sent by their institutions below.

SNHU

It is with great pleasure that Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the Spring 2025 President’s List. The spring terms run from January to May.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

Plymouth State

Jake Monahan of Watertown, MA, has been named to the Plymouth State University President’s List for the Spring 2025 semester. To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.70 or better for the Spring 2025 semester and must have completed at least 12 credit hours during the semester, at least nine of which must confer grade points, at the time the lists are finalized. Monahan is majoring in Elementary Ed & Youth Develop. at Plymouth State.

Ellie Monahan of Watertown, MA, has been named to the Plymouth State University Dean’s List for the Spring 2025 semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must achieve a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.69 during the Spring 2025 semester and must have completed at least 12 credit hours during the semester, at least nine of which must confer grade points, at the time the lists are finalized. Monahan is majoring in Business Administration at Plymouth State.

MassBay

The follow local residents have been named to the MassBay Community College President’s List, earning this academic honor for the Spring 2025 semester. To be eligible for the MassBay President’s List, students must be enrolled in 12 or more college-level credits, achieve a 3.7 grade-point average or higher, and be in good standing with the College.

Assumption

Assumption University has announced that Isabella Sadkowski, of Watertown, Class of 2028, has been named to the University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester. Students named to the Dean’s List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.

URI

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that Brenna Aiello of Watertown has been named to its Spring 2025 Dean’s List.

To be included on the Dean’s List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Regis

Regis announces Lidney Dei of Watertown met academic requirements to be named to the university’s spring 2025 Dean’s List, in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements. To earn a spot on the Dean’s List, Regis students must earn a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher; first-year students must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher

WPI

A total of 2,331 undergraduate students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) were named to the university’s spring 2025 Dean’s List. The criteria for the WPI Dean’s List differ from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI students are named to the Dean’s List based on the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and hands-on projects.

The following students were named to the Dean’s List for Spring 2025:

Kaitlyn Fitzpatrick from Watertown, Massachusetts, class of 2027, majoring in Mechanical Engineering

Aidan Flanagan from Watertown, Massachusetts, class of 2026, majoring in Civil Engineering

Adam Patterson from Watertown, Massachusetts, class of 2026, majoring in Civil Engineering

A total 707 of undergraduate students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) completed research-driven, professional-level projects that apply science and technology to address an important societal need or issue.

Known as the Interactive Qualifying Project (IQP), this project is a core part of the innovative undergraduate experience at WPI. Centered around project-based learning, this hands-on approach offers students opportunities to help develop thoughtful solutions to open-ended problems.

The following students were part of a team that completed an intensive project:

Adam Patterson from Watertown, Massachusetts, class of 2026, majoring in Civil Engineering, completed a project titled “Orran’s Vanadzor Land Use Assessment”

Aidan Flanagan from Watertown, Massachusetts, class of 2026, majoring in Civil Engineering, completed a project titled “Community Kitchen Design for Rural Women in Puerto Rico”

Almost 1,200 undergraduate students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) completed a senior capstone thesis that is required of all graduating seniors as part of the university’s distinctive project-based educational experience. Known as Major Qualifying Projects (MQP), these are professional-level research experiences in the students’ fields of study that challenge students to solve the kind of problem they would typically encounter in their professional discipline.

The following students completed an MQP:

Marley Fortune from Watertown, Massachusetts, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering, class of 2025, completed a project titled “Handheld Safety Assessment Device (HSAD)

Emily Azevedo from Watertown, Massachusetts, majoring in Biology and Biotechnology, class of 2025, completed a project titled “Characterization of A. annua Extracts

Stonehill

Ryan Webber, a member of the Class of 2025 from Watertown, MA, has been named to the Spring 2025 Dean’s List at Stonehill College. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must have successfully completed all courses for which they were registered.

Nichols

Seananthony McCusker of Watertown, MA, has achieved Dean’s List honors for the spring 2025 semester at Nichols College.

Dean’s List recognizes those students who achieve high grades during a single semester. To be included on the Dean’s List, a student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for at least 12 undergraduate credit-hours and must have received no grades below B- during the semester.

Salve Regina

Jesse Cavarretta of Watertown was named to the Dean’s List during the spring 2025 academic semester at Salve Regina University. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 for full-time students completing at least 12 graded credits, or a semester grade point average of 3.8 for part-time students completing at least six credits.

Fairfield

The following Fairfield University students from Watertown received Deans List Honors for the Spring 2025 semester.

In order to be placed on the Dean’s List, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester, have no outstanding or incomplete grades for that semester, and have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better. 

Quinnipiac

The following area students from Watertown were named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2025 semester at Quinnipiac University:

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester. Names followed by an asterisk denotes with honors.

Wisconsin

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.

Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester. Each university school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction. 

St. Anselm

Saint Anselm College has released the Dean’s List of high academic achievers for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year. To be eligible for this honor, a student must have achieved a grade point average of 3.4 or better in the semester with at least 12 credits of study which award a letter grade. This semester there were a total of 674 students from 22 states and 4 countries.

Mark W. Cronin, Dean of the College, announced that Kristen Coleman, Theology Major from Watertown, Massachusetts was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire.
