Watertown hired a new Veterans Services Officer, who is a Navy and Army National Guard veteran with experience in frontline medical care, and most recently worked in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services. See the announcement from the City of Watertown, below.
The City of Watertown is excited to introduce Jerome (Jay) Terminiello as the City’s Veterans Services Officer (VSO) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator.
Jay joins the City having served 6 years with the Navy, and 3 years with the Army National Guard. During his time with the Navy, Jay delivered frontline medical care to Marines and Sailors, as well as facilitated access to physical and mental health resources to those serving.
Most recently he held the position of Justice and Diversion Peer Advocate for the Commonwealth’s Executive Office of Veterans Services; in that role he supported high-risk, high-need veterans participating in the Veterans Treatment Court, helping them access critical physical and mental health services and offering peer mentorship grounded in lived military experience.
Jay’s role as VSO and ADA Coordinator will reside in the new Human Services Department, following the recent reorganization approved by the Watertown City Council. In this role, he will lead the City’s efforts in assisting veterans and their families navigate VA benefits, administer the Chapter 115 financial assistance program, coordinate the City’s adherence to the Americans with Disabilities Act, liaison the Commission on Disability, and work with community partners to plan and implement celebratory events like the Memorial Day Parade.
Jay’s first day with the City will be Oct. 6, 2025. Please join us in welcoming Jay Terminiello to Watertown!
