The Watertown Free Public Library’s One Book, One Watertown selection for 2026 is How Not to Drown in a Glass of Water by Angie Cruz. The award-winning author — also known for her novel Dominicana — will visit the Library for an author talk and book signing on March 24.
Registration for Cruz’s talk opens Monday, March 2 at 9 a.m. Mark your calendar and plan to register early through watertownlib.org/onebook or by calling the Library at 617-972-6436.
ASL and CART services will be provided at the author talk event. Following the conversation, there will be time for book signing, and books will be available for purchase from All She Wrote Books.
Cruz’s visit to Watertown marks the 18th year of One Book, One Watertown, a community event organized annually by the Watertown Free Public Library. Paperback copies of How Not to Drown in a Glass of Water in English, Spanish, and English Large print available in the Library. English Audiobook copies of the book are also available through the Library’s free Hoopla app.
Leading up to Cruz’ talk, the Library will host book discussions in English and Spanish, a Latin jazz performance, a storytelling showcase, and more — all inspired by the themes of the novel. Here’s what the Library has planned for One Book, One Watertown 2026:
