Both Watertown High School tennis teams notched MIAA Tournament victories, while the girls lacrosse team ended its season after advancing one round in the playoffs.
Tennis
On May 27, the Raiders boys tennis team took down Pope Francis Prep 3-2 in the Round of 32 of the MIAA Div. 3 Tournament. The match took place at the Grove Street Tennis Courts in Belmont due to construction at Victory Field. Watertown, the 12th seed, travels to Western Mass to face fifth-seed East Longmeadow on June 1 at 4 p.m.
The girls tennis team beat Dedham 4-1 on May 28. The Round of 32 game was played at the Grove Street Tennis Courts. Next up for the 10th-seeded Raiders is match against seventh-seeded Old Rochester on June 2 at 4 p.m.
Lacrosse
The girls lacrosse team’s season ended in the Round of 32. The Raiders lost to second seeded Norwell 15-3 on May 27.
The team reached the game by beating Tri-County Regional in the Preliminary Round of the MIAA Div. 3 Tournament. Watertown ended the season with a record of 5-16.
