Boston College’s football team announced the latest roster addition, Logan March, a 7-year-old from Watertown who was born with a rare genetic disorder.
Logan born with Gould Syndrome and epilepsy. On Aug. 11, he and his parents, Lyla and Robert, signed a letter of intent with the Eagles football team.
The partnership was announced at a press conference at BC’s Yawkey Athletic Center on Aug. 11, when Logan and his parents, Lyla and Robert, signed a letter of intent. During the two-year agreement, Logan will be part of all team activities, including games and practices.
The partnership was organized by Team IMPACT, a national nonprofit organization that matches children with serious illnesses or disabilities with college athletic teams. Team IMPACT creates symbiotic relationships between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience. Over the past 15 years, the Quincy-based organization has matched 36 children with 18 different BC teams, according to MassLive.
Logan is no stranger to The Heights. He attends the BC Campus School, a special education day school established in 1970 to educates disabled and learning impaired students from age three to 22, according to the MassLive report.
Lyla said, “The football team, really all of the sports teams here at BC, are so interactive and wonderful,” according to WBZ Radio.
Robert said the ceremony was way beyond what they expected, WBZ reported.
BC head coach Bill O’Brien, defensive back Syair Torrence, and running back Bo MacCormack participated in the ceremony.
O’Brien has a good idea of what the Marches are facing. Jack O’Brien, Bill and Colleen’s oldest son, was born with Lissencephaly, a rare brain disorder and he requires constant care, MassLive reported.
Boston College kicks off the 2026 season on Sept. 5 at Cincinnati, and the Eagles return to Alumni Stadium on Sept. 11 to take on Rutgers.
