After a string of gloomy weekends, summer is finally making a firm arrival across Eastern Massachusetts. Friday and Saturday offer ideal early summer conditions: dry, warm, and sunny. But starting Sunday, a dangerous and prolonged heat wave sets in. A strong upper-level ridge will park over the region, driving highs into the 90s and pushing dew points into the oppressive category, producing heat index values over 100°F in many locations. Peak heat is expected Monday through Wednesday.

While most of the period stays dry, isolated storms could sneak in around the edge of the ridge, especially late Saturday or Sunday, as the “ring of fire” pattern takes shape. By the end of the month, signs point to a moderation in both heat and humidity.

Friday, June 20 — Seasonable and Sunny Across Eastern MA

A textbook summer day across the region. High pressure dominates, bringing abundant sunshine, light winds, and dry air. Perfect beach and outdoor weather from Boston to the Merrimack Valley and down into the South Shore.
 • High: 80 to 83°F | Low: 60 to 63°F | Wind: NW 8 to 12 mph
 • Sky: Mostly sunny with a few late-day clouds
 • Dew Point: 54 to 58°F (Comfortable)

Saturday, June 21 — Warm and Turning Muggy in Eastern MA

Another stellar day, though it starts to feel more humid by sunset. Sunshine holds strong, but higher clouds filter in by evening. South and southwest-facing coastal areas will feel the humidity first.
 • High: 84 to 88°F | Low: 67 to 70°F | Wind: WSW 5 to 8 mph
 • Sky: Mostly sunny, becoming partly cloudy late
 • Dew Point: 60 to 65°F (Noticeably Humid)

Sunday, June 22 — Heat and Humidity Expand Across the Region

The heat wave begins in earnest. Temperatures soar and dew points climb, making for a sticky and uncomfortable day. Clouds may increase late, and a rogue thunderstorm isn’t out of the question.
 • High: 88 to 92°F | Low: 70 to 72°F | Wind: SW 6 to 10 mph
 • Sky: Sunny early, becoming partly cloudy
 • Dew Point: 66 to 70°F (Humid to Oppressive)

Monday, June 23 — Peak Heat and Oppressive Humidity in Eastern MA

The worst of the heat wave sets in. Most towns away from the immediate coast push into the mid-90s, and dew points in the 70s drive heat index values over 100°F. Use caution outdoors.
 • High: 92 to 96°F | Low: 73 to 75°F | Wind: WSW 5 to 8 mph
 • Sky: Sunny to hazy skies with late-day clouds
 • Chance of Rain: 20% (PM isolated storm possible)
 • Dew Point: 70 to 75°F (Oppressive)

Tuesday, June 24 — Continued Heat with Storm Risk in Eastern MA

Still oppressive. Another scorcher is on tap, and afternoon or evening storms could erupt, especially west of I-95, but a few could reach Metro Boston and coastal areas.
 • High: 92 to 95°F | Low: 72 to 75°F | Wind: W 6 to 9 mph
 • Sky: Partly sunny, with clouds and storm potential late
 • Chance of Rain: 30% (scattered PM storms)
 • Dew Point: 70 to 73°F (Oppressive)

Wednesday, June 25 — Slight Relief but Still Uncomfortable

A modest dip in temperatures, but it remains very warm and muggy. The hazy, humid feel lingers. Isolated storms are again possible late in the day, especially inland.

 • Sky: Partly sunny with haze and cumulus clouds
 • Chance of Rain: 30% (PM pop-up storms)
 • Dew Point: 68 to 72°F (Humid to Oppressive)

Thursday, June 26 — Hot but Slightly Drier in Eastern MA

A slightly more comfortable day arrives, though still plenty warm. Dew points drop a bit, making it feel less stifling despite continued sunshine.
 • High: 78 to 81°F | Low: 62 to 65°F | Wind: W 5 to 7 mph
 • Sky: Mostly sunny with some late-day cloud cover
 • Dew Point: 63 to 67°F (Sticky)

Friday, June 27 — Warm and Unsettled with Storm Risk

Humidity builds again, and an approaching frontal boundary could trigger afternoon or evening storms. Not a washout, but showers may interrupt outdoor plans.
 • High: 79 to 84°F | Low: 64 to 67°F | Wind: SW 6 to 9 mph
 • Sky: Partly sunny early, becoming mostly cloudy with increasing storm chances
 • Chance of Rain: 30 to 60% (PM storms possible)
 • Dew Point: 67 to 70°F (Humid)
