Football season will soon kick off at Victory Field. Watertown High School’s varsity team has its first scrimmage on Aug. 23, and will open the regular season on Sept. 5.
In 2024, the Raiders went 4-7, but ended the season on a high note by shutting out Belmont, 23-0, on Thanksgiving.
Watertown will have at least five home games. The regular season kicks off Sept. 5 with a home game against Whittier Tech in a non-league clash. After another non-league matchup against Brookline on Sept. 12, the Raiders host Burlington on Oct. 24, and Wilmington will make a visit to Victory Field on Halloween.
The MIAA Tournament begins on Nov. 7, and Watertown will play a game that week and the following week, whether or not they make the playoffs. The opponents and locations will be decided in early November.
The season wraps up when the Raiders host the Thanksgiving rivalry game against Belmont on Nov. 27.
Watertown will hit the road for a non-league game against Ipswich on Sept. 12, and Middlesex League games at Stoneham (Oct. 3), Wakefield (Oct. 10), and Melrose (Oct. 17).
Before the season starts, the Raiders will host a pair of scrimmages against Waltham on Aug. 23 and Dracut on Aug. 27.
