The beautiful fall season is here, and this weekend you can celebrate it in some fun ways. Start on Friday evening at the Gore Estate with a Living in the Dark Tour of their historic home. They will show you what life was like before electricity lit up our homes. Then on Saturday evening, be sure to catch the violin concert at the Armenian Museum of America, featuring renowned violinist, Haig Hovsepian. Sunday is National Drink Beer Day, and Donohue’s Bar & Grill welcomes you to celebrate it with them and their wide selection of beer. Sunday afternoon there is an adult crafting workshop at the library in which you can learn how to make wire bracelets. However, it might be wise not to drink and make bracelets on the same afternoon.

MUSIC IN COLOR CONCERT

Armenian Museum of America, 65 Main St.

The Music in Color concert series continues with a dynamic new initiative and Artist-in-Residence program led by acclaimed Armenian-American violinist Haig Hovsepian. The program brings engaging live musical experiences to the Adele and Haig Der Manuelian Galleries, while deepening public connection to Armenian culture through music.

Haig Hovsepian, described by renowned violinist Ilya Kaler as “one of the most gifted musicians of his generation,” is celebrated for his versatility across classical, Armenian, and jazz traditions. He has performed in world-class venues including Carnegie Hall, Symphony Hall, and the Koussevitzky Music Shed, and has appeared as a soloist with the Boston Pops Orchestra. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, Hovsepian is also a dedicated educator and advocate for community engagement through the arts. NATIONAL DRINK BEER DAY
Sunday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m.-Midnight
Donohue’s Bar & Grill, 87 Bigelow Ave.

I’m not sure that drinking beer needs its own holiday, but why not celebrate one’s love of that malty drink this Sunday. Beer lovers have more selection than ever before with flavors drastically different from their grandfather’s beers. From avocado beer, to chili beer, squid ink to chocolate beer, there is an infinite availability of flavors. I can’t guarantee that Donohue’s will have all those flavors, but their selection of 20 beers is plenty for a celebration of national drink beer day.
